Charming, smart, and a social butterfly. He knows how to communicate very well, in fact, lure them into his fish net. Catch them like it was nothing. He speak like a well mannered man, soft spoken words, even could be seductive at some point.

When situation pushed him, he could be extremely arrogant as well. Even though it's not considered as 'stupidly arrogant', it does contain a sarcastic comment. A hard slap right onto your cheek. Deep and hurts, but also annoying.

He always set his target first before going into it. It could be a thing, a situation, or even a person. Once he set his goal clear, he will achieve it no matter what. Even if he can't, he will definitely make them kneel. A man who truly loves to be in control, but also loves to play with those who take the control. In other party, it could be his enemy or someone who see themselves that high.

It would be his pleasure to trample them.

Eversince Maverick still a kid, his father always taught him not to be weak. Always, have to, one step ahead other persons. He wasn't born with a silver spoon on his mouth, hence his father was obsessed to prove those who born with luck could be suck as well. Even beaten by his 'low' son.

Just like father like son, Maverick couldn't accept loss. It's make him angry, it's make him want to shout loudly, and from there he swear one day he would make everyone kneel before him. Seeing him as the best, it's him, not them or anyone.

Time passed, he always get the best within his side; with his sole ambition and effort. He never get bored, he never fed up with his achievements, although... he kinda want some challenge. Everything just went too smooth for him. He could be anything he want, enrolled in favourite universities.

And yet. . . he didn't take it.

He choose to throw everything away. Even when his father force him to take doctorate, he simply toss him away; for all that he cares about was never be his father's dream. But his own satisfaction and ambition.

He run away from his house and started to live as a homeless. A homeless who did a gambling, lottery, and else. Oh well, he is indeed living on the street but it doesn't take long time. Why it have to be gambling? Poker, in his favour? It's not just about ability and how he predict the upcoming events but it's also requires luck. And Maverick. . . wants to make luck itself kneel before him.

Of course for first year he's been struggling. Too much loses, too much debts, but he can turn the table in second year. He learned how to properly play poker, mastered it in any possibilities. Though, cheating isn't his taste. He never did it but he will knows if someone cheated. His eyes, the game's mechanism, he is in full control. From a player, the luckiest player, until he decide to run his own game. Where he holds everything. The chips, the rules, and most importantly... the controls. At first it's just a small game, for around 5 pounds per turn, keep raising until 100 pounds, and in further years. It's reaching 1000 pounds, 5000 pounds, and keep increasing even 1M pounds!

It's getting big, he runs around 5 games each night; 20 rounds each tables. The guest is no longer commoners, but also hollywood stars, business man, artists, and other successful persons. Never he gone through any illegals, he wanted everything is fair and square. Those who cheated would be black listed, and he is very picky about his clients. Regular background checks, to avoid any criminals or unknown transaction that happened under his table. He is not a good person, but he is not a criminal either.

However, the number is keep increasing. It's almost like he had his own casino but only for poker games. And that's where he started his new business. There are always losers who kept pushing their luck, they will do anything to win even loaning money (which is something that they don't have). For he isn't a criminal, he did it fair and square. He make a deal first with his client before lending them the money. Of course it's not gonna be hard, since he will kindly ask how much they had and willing to give (either is it phone, clothes, even their own house). Come on. . .

Isn't he way too good for that?
